Social Media – Protecting You and Your Clients

Why This Matters in Live-In Care You work inside someone’s private home. That home is not content for social media. Even small details can identify a client.

The Golden Rules

Never:

  • Post photos from inside a client’s home.

  • Post about a client (even anonymously).

  • Accept friend requests from current clients.

  • Share care stories online.

  • Record audio/video at work.

  • Post during working hours.

What To Do If…

🔹 A client sends you a friend request

Politely decline and tell your manager.

🔹 A family member tags you in a post

Ask them to remove the tag and inform your manager.

🔹 You accidentally post something work-related

Delete it immediately.
Contact your manager within 1 hour.

🔹 A client asks for a selfie together

Explain you need written consent and manager approval first.

🔹 You see a colleague posting about work

Do not comment publicly.
Report to your manager confidentially.

Remember

In live-in care:

Trust is everything.
Confidentiality is absolute.
The client’s home is private.

When in doubt — don’t post.
If unsure — contact your manager.
