Can I Take Part in Fundraising?

Yes — but it’s voluntary.

You must:

  • Get approval before using the edyn.care name.

  • Ensure your placement is safely covered.

  • Make clear if it’s personal or company fundraising.

You must not:

  • Ask your client for donations.

  • Fundraise during care hours.

What If I’m on a Live-In Placement?

You cannot:

  • Leave a client unattended to attend events.

  • Deliver community sessions during contracted hours.

If you want to attend something:

  • Speak to your Care Coordinator.

  • Get written approval.

  • Ensure safe cover is arranged.

Client safety comes first.

If You’re Delivering a Dementia Session

Before the session:

  • Ensure it’s approved.

  • Complete any required risk assessment.

  • Follow safeguarding guidance.

During the session:

  • Do not collect personal data unless authorised.

  • Maintain professional conduct.

What To Do If…

…You Identify a Safeguarding Concern at a Community Event

  • Do not investigate yourself.

  • Contact the Registered Manager immediately.

  • Follow safeguarding reporting procedure.

…A Client Feels Pressured to Donate

  • Reassure them participation is voluntary.

  • Inform the office.

…You’re Unsure Whether Something Is Appropriate

  • Contact the office before proceeding.

Remember

Community work is important — but never at the expense of:

  • Client safety

  • Care quality

  • Professional boundaries

When in doubt — check first.
