Your Bedroom

You wil have:

  • Your own private bedroom.

  • Space for your clothes.

  • Safe storage for medication.

  • Reasonable privacy.

If your door cannot be locked, this must have been agreed before you started. If you feel your privacy is not being respected – call your Care Manager.

Your Breaks

You are entitled to:

  • 2 hours break daily (or 14 hours per week).

  • To leave the house during your break.

If the client cannot be left alone, we will arrange for cover.

What to do if…

You are repeatedly unable to take your break:
→ Inform the office immediately. Do not wait. We will resolve this issue as soon as possible. Your health and wellbeing is important to us.

Overnight Support

You are expected to sleep during the night.

If:

  • The client wakes frequently (more the twice and more than 15 mins)

  • You are supporting for long periods at night,

  • You feel exhausted,

→ Escalate to the office. Your placements will be reviewed. Fatigue is a safety risk.

Bathroom & Facilities

You will have safe access to washing facilities. If sharing, arrangements must remain respectful. If this changes during placement – inform the office.

Your Belongings

  • Bring only essentials.

  • Take everything home at end of rotation.

  • Do not leave items in the property.

Internet Access

You will be able to access care plans and submit notes.

If WiFi fails:
→ Notify the office immediately.

What to do if…

A family member enters your bedroom without permission

Document it and inform your Care Manager.

You feel unsafe in the property

Contact on-call immediately.

The client refuses to let you leave for your break

Do not argue. Call the office.

You are asked to manage money but it’s not in the care plan

Do not proceed. Contact the office.

Remember

  • You are a professional.

  • You deserve privacy.

  • Breaks are not optional.

  • Escalate concerns early.

We are responsible for making sure your placement remains safe and sustainable.
