Declaring a Border Area Worker in the Incomes Register

A border municipality worker is someone who lives in one country but regularly or partially works in a neighboring country's border area. This is common in areas such as:

  • Tornio – Haparanda (Finland–Sweden)

  • Ylitornio – ÖvertorneĂ„ (Finland–Sweden)

  • Enontekiö – Kautokeino (Finland–Norway)

✅ How to Mark an Employee as a Border Worker:

  1. Go to My Info → Users

  2. Edit the employee who works in a border municipality.

  3. In the Tax Information section, enable the option "Works in a border municipality" by selecting Yes.

📝 In the Payroll Process:

When creating payroll entries, specify:

  • The time period worked in Finland.

  • The number of days worked in Finland.
