How to Post and Allocate Transactions in Eemel

To ensure accurate bookkeeping, transactions on your bank statement must be properly posted to the appropriate accounts in Eemel. Here’s how to do it:

🔹 Accessing the Posting View

Go to Accounting → Fiscal Years → Post Transactions.

🔹 Unposted Lines

Use the Unposted tab to see all unposted bank transactions. If there are detailed breakdowns (split lines), you can click the “Bank Statement” button to view and post them individually.

🔹 Posted Lines

Once the full amount of a transaction has been posted, it will move from the Unposted tab to the Posted tab.

🔹 Allocation Options

Each bank statement line can be allocated to:

  • A sales invoice payment

  • A purchase invoice payment

  • A payroll run entry

  • A manual general ledger entry

🔹 Adding Entries from Bank Lines

From a bank statement line, you can add:

  • A sales invoice payment

  • A purchase invoice payment

  • A general ledger journal entry

If you’re not sure about a transaction, you can post it temporarily to a suspense account (e.g., “Unidentified Sales” or “Unidentified Purchases”) for later review and correction.
