Background and How to Top It Up

Eemeli is used by thousands of users, and every entrepreneur can register and start using the service right away. Service usage incurs fees (monthly charges, invoice sending, etc.) which accumulate as a usage balance. A credit limit is in place to reduce credit losses, and the usage balance reflects your company's running costs for the service.

How the Usage Balance Accumulates

As you use the service, related charges are recorded.
For example: Sending 10 e-invoices (at €0.49 each) adds
10 × €0.49 = €4.90 + VAT
to your balance.

  • The balance appears negative as charges accumulate

  • A credit limit controls how much your balance can increase mid-month

Monthly Billing

  • If the credit limit is not exceeded, you will receive one invoice per month

  • Paying the invoice resets the balance to zero, and no debt remains to Eemel

Top Up the Balance (if Credit Limit Is Exceeded)

If your balance exceeds the credit limit, you can manually top it up:

  1. Click the Usage Balance link in the top menu

  2. Select Top up balance

  3. Enter the amount and click Top up balance

  4. Choose a payment method via Paytrail and complete the payment

  5. After successful payment, you will be redirected back to Eemeli

  6. A payment confirmation from Paytrail will be sent to your email, and Eemel will generate a VAT-included receipt

Understanding Your Usage Balance

  • Positive balance:
Service charges (e.g. sent/received invoices) are automatically deducted.
You receive a monthly receipt detailing all charges.

    Find the receipt here:
Purchases → Purchase Invoices (or Receipts) → Incoming / Unapproved

  • Negative balance:
You will receive a monthly invoice. Once paid, your balance resets to zero.
