How to Record Hours, Invoice Work, Run Payroll, and Generate Reports
General Information
Time tracking is included in every product package. Depending on your selected package, you can log either unlimited hours or a limited number of hours per year (in free or lower-tier plans).
Entry Types
Besides hours, the system also supports logging:
Travel reimbursements (e.g., mileage)
Per diems
Project-based (fixed) payments
You can manage these in Time Entry Types by adding, editing, or deleting custom entry categories.
Projects and Logging Hours
All hours must be linked to a project, and each project must have one assigned customer. This setup ensures clear invoicing and payroll alignment.
Main Sections of Time Tracking
Under the Time Tracking main menu (or under Project Management if you're using the Super product), you'll find the following key areas:
Create Projects: Define the clients and projects for time entries.
Record Time Entries: Log hours and other items by date, customer, and project.
Invoice Hours: Select logged entries and generate customer invoices.
Pay Logged Time: Use with or without payroll module to process payments for entries.
Log History: Audit trail for all changes to time entries.
Time Entry Types: Create custom categories like "Mileage" or "Per Diem."
Reports: Generate summaries by user, client, project, or entry type.
Creating a Time-Entry-Only Role
If you have team members who should only log hours, you can assign them a special Employee role with restricted access.
Super Plan – Project Management Extension
If you subscribe to the Super plan, you can also enable the Project Management add-on, which includes:
Billing Schedules (Installments and invoice planning)
Proposal Estimation and Customer Approval
Workload Calendar (Assign project and leave schedules to staff)
Customer Approval for Hours (Send logged hours for client confirmation)
Project Document Management
