The main factors used to determine your home insurance premium are specific to your situation and may include your age, credit score, property size, features and location of your property.

The most effective ways to lower your home insurance premiums are:

  • Increase your deductible (the amount you are responsible to pay before insurance kicks in.)

  • Improve home security and loss prevention features (security alarms, fire/smoke detectors, water leak sensors, back flow prevention, sump pumps.)

  • Update and maintain old systems (old roofing or siding, plumbing, electrical, etc.)

  • Bundle Policies (combine your home and auto insurance with the same insurance company.)

  • Maintain a good claims history (Avoid small claims where possible. Fewer claims are important for a lower risk rating.)
