Customise the keyboard shortcut to launch eesel from any tab

You can define or change the keyboard shortcut used to open eesel.

On Chrome

By default this shortcut is:

  • cmd-e on Mac

  • ctrl-shift-e on Windows

To change it, follow the steps below.

1. Go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts

Just type chrome://extensions/shortcuts in your address bar, press enter, and you'll land on the setting page for all the extension shortcuts:

2. Click on "edit"

Find eesel on the page, and click on the "edit" icon next to "Activate the extension":

3. Edit the shortcut

Click inside the shortcut field:

From there, just press the keys you want to use as a new shortcut for eesel. The new keys should then appear in the field:


On Firefox

By default the shortcut is:

  • cmd-shift-1 on Mac

  • ctrl-shift-1 on Windows

To change it, follow the steps below.

1. Go to about:addons

Just type about:addons in your address bar, press enter, and you'll land on a page similar to this one:

2. Open the shortcuts page

Click on the "cog" icon at the top right corner of the page:

And then on Manage Extension Shortcuts:

3. Edit the shortcut

Find eesel in the list of add-ons, and click in the field next to Activate toolbar button:

From there, just press the keys you want to use as a new shortcut for eesel. The new keys should then appear in the field:
