Discover how driving style affects the efficiency metric

Updated over 2 years ago

For every drive you can see the efficiency of that trip in the EEVEE app. This value shows a percentage to indicate the ratio between the range consumed and the actual distance driven during the trip.

Some examples

In the first trip, the range of the car was reduced by 65 kilometers. However, the car only drove a distance 42 kilometers in reality. This results in an efficiency of ± 61%.

The second trip has an efficiency score of ± 87%. This is because the reduction in range (19 kilometers) is very close to the distance driven (17 kilometers).

What does this mean?

A low efficiency means the car consumed more energy (and thus range) than usual. We mark this using the red arrow icon and the horizontal bar graph visualisation. A high efficiency means that the driver did not consume too much energy. This is shown with green arrows.

How can I drive efficiently?

Multiple factors can cause the efficiency to be lower than average. This is most often related to the driving style. If you want to have a high score, try:

  1. Driving slower: this consumes less energy, and thus higher efficiency.

  2. Accelerating less: every speed boost eats away some energy from the battery.

  3. Minimise other energy usage: blasting the AC/heating, or using all gimmicks your car has to offer could consume additional energy that impact the efficiency.

  4. Maximise re-generative braking: if your car supports this, the process of braking can inject some energy back into the battery. This increases the efficiency.
