Developers love Jira. We don't expect them to use Effective Experiments.

With that in mind, we've made it easy for you to communicate your experiment briefs directly from Effective Experiments and push it into the dev queue.

There are 2 versions of the Jira integration

Basic Jira Integration - Works with Jira Cloud Only. One way sync. Push all experiment information into a Jira project and type of your choosing

This Jira Integration is available on all accounts and can be setup by project admins or account owners.

Enterprise Jira Integration - This is an enterprise add-on module where the Jira integration can perform as per your specifications. Whether this is a 2 way sync or you'd like to change the status of a card in Effective Experiments based on Jira activity, our team can scope this with you and provide you with the add-on cost.

HOW TO INTEGRATE JIRA WITH EFFECTIVE EXPERIMENTS

1) Go to the Adminstration > Settings > AppLinks

You can use this URL format to get to it easily

https://*****.atlassian.net/plugins/servlet/applinks/listApplicationLinks

(replace the asterisks with your subdomain)

2) Clink on create link

3) Select direct application link and enter

4) In there enter "Effective Experiments" for the application link and Generic Application for the application type.

Select "create incoming link" and click continue

5) Add the follow information into your Jira Consumer Key & Public Key

Consumer key:

9ed9e28af563de8c889933e5e13bc093

Consumer Name

EffectiveExperiments

Public key:

MIGfMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQC/jmCnEQh+jyCc6Fm+wKGSvHXnHsC0b9nNJWiFUob8PvlLEa9l0Dd9YhhVrakPL0NAci0ubai8qTD9VYkp4QpYiB64YGoYy1rm5LCgiVqV03yj3GxNo4J7slZ3Mch/M8lUPV4ER9OJRCCeY4Njf1B85Xh6YEKsqcAAdSoEOaSi3QIDAQAB

6) Once you have finished creating this in Jira, go back to

Effective Experiments > Project Settings > Integrations and Click on JIRA

Depending on your plan, you will have Jira Basic Or Jira Pro highlighted

Click on Connect Jira

In the input block, put your atlassian URL eg. https://companyname.atlassian.net

Jira will ask you to authorise this (You will need to have relevant Jira privileges to authorise this)

Once successful, you will be able taken to a configuration wizard to configure how this integration syncs between the two platforms.

Using the JIRA integration

Navigate to any experiment in full view and you will now see the Jira Integration on the top right

Jira Basic supports manual push only. To push information into Jira, simply click the icon and click on Push to Jira.

The icon will now change to a link which means the information has now been pushed to Jira.

Clicking the icon will now take you to the Jira board and card that has been created.

All information from your experiment card will now be created in Jira.
