The Google Analytics integration allows you to sync an experiment to Google Analytics and pull results via segments set up through custom dimensions.

This means your visitor and conversion numbers are pulled directly from Google analytics. You can use this to also sync your Google optimize experiments data into Effective Experiments.

Please note : Ensure that you have set up segments from custom dimensions that group your control and variation data from your experiments.

To integrate, go to the project settings and select Google Analytics.

  1. Follow the steps by selecting your Google account and click on Add.

  2. You should now see a dialog box that gives you the ability to select your GA account > Property > View

3. Once integrated, the GA icon is visible on the experiment page on the top right. A red circle indicates that this experiment is not currently hooked up with GA.

4. To sync the experiment with GA, click on the icon and you will see this modal

This wizard will ask you to define where the visitors will be tracked from for your control and variation visitors.

Select the type of match, the page and the segment (with the custom dimensions for control first and then the variations)

5. You can now pick the goal locations for each goal you have set. This could be pageview based where you can define the page, or Goal based using your preset goals from GA or revenue based.

6. This will now connect the experiment to GA and will pull the results accordingly.
