Research & Observations
Research is the foundation to any strong experimentation programs and is arguably the most important section of Effective Experiments. It’s where the majority of ideas and experiments will originate and is a where your initial insights and observations can be found.
Observations are short, punchy one-liners that summarise an insight within the research. They’re an extremely useful way of pulling actionable information from your research, without having to trawl through a PowerPoint deck or research document.
(eg: “Customers need more info on current offers…” or “Customers were concerned about security on checkout page”)
Having a healthy research depository is highly advised as it helps generate ideas, gives a clear line of sight across the business and enables collaboration across teams involved in the experimentation process; uniting research, UX, ideation, product and experimentation teams.
