Alternatives to the Primary Item that has been selected for the Item ID is an Alternative Item.
For example, if the project requires a Kitchen Faucet, the designer would add a specific faucet to the Item ID. This item would be known as the Primary Item. The designer then may choose to add a backup or different option to that same Item ID. That item would be known as an Alternative Item.
