When a guest joins your broadcast, they will be entered into what we call the Greenroom. That's where they will be while waiting for their scene to go live.

Let's take a look at what your guests will see in the Greenroom.

1 & 2. Guest Video Feeds: All guests in the Greenroom will be able to see each other.

3. Muted: When guests are muted, this icon will appear next to their name.

4. Connection Quality: Allows guests to monitor the quality of their connection. If their internet is slow or slowing down at any point in the stream they will notice fewer bars and get help to try and improve the connection.

5. Guest Chat: a text-based chat that is only viewable to Effi users and guests. The audience watching your stream will not be able to see private chat messages.

6. Mic Mute/Unmute: where guests can mute/unmute their mics.

7. Camera On/Off: where guests can turn their cameras on and off. Should a guest turn off their camera, they and everyone in the Greenroom will see an avatar in its place.

8. Guest Settings: menu where guests can edit their details and change camera and mic sources.

9. Element Live Preview: If there is an element live in the scene like a poll or meter, guests will be able to see it in the Greenroom as well.

10. Audience Chat: guests will be able to see all incoming chat messages from all the platforms you are streaming to.

11. Help: like users, guests will have access to our help center and support from the Effi team.

States of the Greenroom

The Greenroom contains a series of states based on the status of the broadcast. We will go through them below.

Greenroom

When guests first join before the broadcast is live they will be in the general Greenroom while they wait for the user to begin streaming.

Greenroom - Backstage

Once the broadcast is live, the guests will be backstage as they wait for the scene they are in to go live. This state of the Greenroom will be indicated at the top of the Greenroom as well as on badges on each guest's video.

Greenroom - Live

When a guest sees "Live" at the top of the Greenroom as well as a badge on their video, this means that they are currently live in the scene and the audience can see them. Everyone else in the Greenroom will also be able to see when a guest is live.

πŸ“Œ Guests will not have to do anything to move through these states. They will automatically change based on the progression of the broadcast and the scenes you have chosen to include them in.
