Company-Wide Insights

Use heatmaps, 9-box grids, radar charts, and distributions to analyze performance across your organization

Effy AI's Insights help you move from individual reviews to organization-level patterns, making it easier to spot strengths, gaps, and trends across teams.

What the colors mean (and why you can't change them)

Colors in Insights (heatmaps and other Insights views) are set automatically by Effy and aren't customizable. They're based on percentiles — each score is colored by where it falls relative to the other scores in the same report, not against a fixed number. So the same score can appear in a different color in a different report, depending on the range around it.

Effy uses a 5-color scale from red (lowest) to green (highest), split into equal percentile bands:

  • 0–20% — red: lowest scores in the report

  • 20–40% — light red: below average

  • 40–60% — yellow: middle of the range

  • 60–80% — light green: above average

  • 80–100% — green: highest scores in the report

Because colors are relative to each report, read them as a quick "who's high / who's low here" guide rather than an absolute rating. The colors can't be edited or turned off.

Configuring Insights

You can fine-tune how Insights are calculated and displayed:

  • Edit competency labels (topics)
Topics are configured only in an individual review report, not in Insights. Open the report → Set up report → hover over a block that uses topics (e.g. Scores comparison or radar chart) → Block settings → Edit topics. Insights reflects the topics you set there.

  • Question types used in calculations
Only rating-type questions are included in quantitative analysis.
Open-text responses are excluded from charts and scores.

  • Access control
Use the Manage access button to define who can access the Insights dashboard.

Understanding percentiles

Scores in Insights can be shown as percentile rankings.

  • 47% means the person scored higher than 47% of all rated employees for that competency

  • 10% means the person is in the lowest 10th percentile

  • 90% means the person is in the top 10%

Percentiles make it easier to compare results across teams and cycles, even when different forms or reviewers are involved.

Weighted scoring

Effy AI currently does not support weighted scoring.

  • All review types (self, peer, manager, upward) are weighted equally

  • If you need custom weighting:

    • Export raw data

    • Apply weights manually in a spreadsheet

Weighted scoring is on the product roadmap.
