Discovered Apps and App Metering

See all the apps on your devices in one place to find old versions and meter them so you don't breach license agreements

Updated over a month ago

As you will see when drilling into individual devices, we synchronize the list of applications on each device (except for personal devices). We bring this information together under “Discovered Apps” allowing you to have a comprehensive view of the apps installed across your device estate, including versioning information and critically the spread of different versions installed allowing you to find devices running old versions of apps which maybe insecure.

Drill into an application to see the devices on which it is installed and to home in on where older versions are installed

On top of this we layer App Metering – the ability to check you have not got more installations than licenses, and soon the ability to see where installed products are used, and for how long they have been used. This information allows you to stay within your EULAs with your license agreements with software vendors, reclaim unused licenses to save money or re-distribute licenses and to increase security posture by removing unused apps that could easily become unpatched.

When drilled into an application, click the Edit button to set the quantity of licenses installed, when set we will compare the total number of installations and highlight where there are more installations than the license limits set
