By default, every theme available in the Shopify Theme Store includes the footer tagline: Powered by Shopify. This is designed to inform site visitors that the store is hosted on the Shopify platform.

If you wish, you can remove this text using a few simple steps:

Step 1: From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store and continue to Themes.

Step 2: Find your theme and click the button that contains three dots (...).

Step 3: Select Edit code.

Step 4: Within the Code Editor, open the Sections folder and click the footer.liquid file.

Step 5: Use ctrl + F on a PC or command + F on a Mac to locate and delete the ##{{ powered_by_link }} Liquid tag.

Step 6: Click Save.

Powered by Shopify will now be gone from your theme's footer.
