Silent mode

In this article, we explain what silent mode means and how to (de)activate it.

To give you the opportunity to get to know Eitje before your team members start receiving notifications, you can keep it in silent mode.


What is silent mode?

If you start using Eitje, your account will automatically be in silent mode. This means that your team members will not receive an invitation to get started with Eitje, yet. Also other notifications will not be sent by email. It allows you to add you team members to Eitje, start creating a schedule, without them receiving any notifications. Take your time!

You can recognise that your account is in silent mode by a blue bar on top of your screen:



Invite team members manually

Would you like to grant a team member early access to Eitje, while your account is still in silent mode? You can manually send them an activation email:

  1. Navigate to 'Team' in the main menu.

  2. Click on the profile of the team member and click 'View' to open the profile.

  3. Click 'Send activation email' on top of the screen.

This email has some useful instructions (e.g. which app to install). However, they do not need this email to be able to log in. They simply need their email address.

Deactivate silent mode

Are you ready to give your team members access to Eitje? You can deactivate the silent mode by clicking on the blue bar. A pop-up will appear with two options:

  • Do not send
    New team members that will be added from now on, will automatically receive an invitation for Eitje.

  • Send activation email
    Your current team members will now receive the invitation email.

From now on, team members will also receive emails when the schedule is published or changed, although they can switch off these emails in their settings.

⚠️ Note: Do you work with multiple venues? Then you have to deactivate the silent mode separately for each venue.



Reactivate silent mode

Do you want to reactivate silent mode? Keep in mind that team members have probably activated their profiles. This means they will still receive push notifications from the app or browser. Only the emails will be blocked.

  1. Click on the menu icon in the top right corner, and go to 'Venue settings'.

  2. Go to 'Organisation', then 'Silent mode'

  3. Use the toggle to activate or deactivate the silent mode.
