Once you have created functions, you can assign them to shifts. Functions can help you when creating the schedule, as you can clearly see which team member is able to work specific shifts.
Functions in shifts
You can recognise functions by the coloured squares with a letter inside (called 'badges') shown next to a team member’s name. You will see these both on the shift and in the availability view. You can change the colour and the letter of each badge on the functions page.
💡 Tip: If you cannot see the availability, click the 'Show' button in the top right corner to check if the availability view is turned on.
Assign function to a shift
By assigning a function to a shift, a function badge will be displayed on this shift. Team members with the same badge have the function needed to work this shift. This ensures that anyone you schedule for this shift has a matching role or function.
Go to 'Planning'.
Open the shift you want to assign a function to.
Click 'Shift function'.
💡 Tip: From here you can also edit and create new functions.Select the function.
On the right you can see which available team member has a matching badge and is able to work this shift.
Click 'Save'.
Default function
If you assign a default function in a team member's profile, this function will automatically show on that shift when you schedule them, so you do not have to manually add it to the shift.
