Functions in the planning

Read more about how you can use functions in the planning.

Updated over a week ago

Once you have created functions, you can assign them to team members and shifts. Functions can help you when creating the schedule because you can immediately see which function each team member holds.

You recognise functions by the coloured squares with a letter inside next to a team member's name. You can find this both on a shift card and in the availability view. You can change this color and letter on the skills page.

πŸ’‘ Tip: If you don't see the availability view, check under the 'Show' button in the top right corner to see if the availability is turned on.

Fixed function of a team member

A team member with a fixed function will automatically be assigned this function badge in the shifts on the planning and in the availability view. This allows you to see at a glance what function this team member has and what skills they possess. For example, you can easily see who has the role of 'manager'. Read here about how to add a fixed function to a team member.

Assign function to a team member

By assigning a function to a shift, a function badge will be displayed in this shift. This way, you know that the person you schedule on this shift needs to have a matching function.

  1. Go to Planning.

  2. Click on the shift to which you want to assign a function.

  3. Click on 'Shift function'.
πŸ’‘ Tip: You can create new functions from here by clicking on 'Manage functions'.

  4. Select the function that you would like to assign to this shift.

  5. Click on 'Save'.
