Updated over 3 months ago

The first person with access to Eitje becomes the administrator. This person has all the rights in the Eitje environment.

Do you want to promote someone or give them more responsibilities or authority? Then you can assign rights in Eitje to a team member by using roles. With certain roles they get to perform more tasks in their account.

Type of roles

In Eitje, there are eight roles:

1. Admin

Team members with the Admin role have all possible rights in Eitje. Therefore, they do not have to be assigned to other roles. The only thing an admin can't do is delete your Eitje environment. If you want to cancel your subscription, please contact our support deparment.

Useful to know: only admins can assign and modify roles as only they can access the venue settings.

2. Manager

Team members with the 'Manager' role can do much regarding teams, team members and the planning. Managers are allowed to:

  • invite team members and end their employment;

  • create and manage teams;

  • create, modify, and publish schedules;

  • manage availability of other team members;

  • manage news items;

  • edit and create knowledge articles.

In addition, managers can manage everything related to planning and availability.

3. Approve leave requests

Team members with the' Approve leave requests' role may:

  • approve leave request. They are therefore also entitled to take hours from the leave balance of your team members.

💡 Tip: If you want this team member to also be able to approve hours, you should also assign this person the role '5. Approve hours'.

4. Contracts

Team members with the role 'Contracts' may:

  • view, create and modify contracts of other team members.

Team members who do not have these rights will therefore not be able to view other team members' contracts. Of course, a team member can always view his own contract.

5. Approve hours

Team members with the role 'Approve hours' may:

  • adjust the hours planned or worked, including those of other team members;

  • create new hour entries, also for other team members;

  • approve hours.

These team members thereby get access to the time registration and overtime balace.

⚠️ Note: To make exports to the salary administration, you a combination of this role and role '7. Financial'.

6. Write hours team members

Team members with the role 'Write hours team members' may:

  • edit hours planned or worked, including for other team members;

  • write hour entries, also for other team member.

They cannot approve hours. The hours written by this team member are therefore colored orange in the time registration. They are listed as 'pending', and must be approved by a team member with the right permission.

7. Financial

Team members with the role 'Financial' may:

  • view the Financial report in the Eitje app. This report gives you live insight into the financial data of the day.

⚠️ Please note that as long as the team member has the role 'Financial', but not the role 'Contracts' or 'Admin', he/she cannot view the of one shift or the hourly wages of other team members.

8. Not on planning

By assigning the role 'Not on planning' you ensure that the team member is not displayed on the schedule and in the time registration. It is then impossible to schedule this person or exchange shifts with him/her. This team member will also never receive messages to approve exchange requests.

This is the only role that doesn't belong to the Admin role by default.
