You may want to increase or decrease the capacity of an event depending on a few different factors,
- changes to how many slots/spaces you have.
- an event constantly being booked so you would like more space.
- an event that is not getting enough traction, so you wish to close some spaces.
To change the capacity of an event, navigate to the chosen event and select the pen icon, where it states "Maximum Number Of Guests" below "Name" this is where you will choose the capacity (whether it is increasing or decreasing) once done, select the blue tick at the bottom of the page.
It may let you do this if there are no past bookings, however if there are bookings in the past or future it will not let you confirm this change. The next step in this case will be to determine if they are past bookings or future bookings.
If they are in the past, you will need to split the event (if you do not know how, please see article "Using the Split tool" from the date after the last date a booking was made, once this is done you can change the capacity from here by following the instructions above.
If the bookings are future bookings stopping you from making changes to capacity, you will need to decide what should happen with the bookings (if they are over the chosen capacity) in order to continue.
