How do I add a POD/Beneficiary?
To designate someone as your POD, you can contact our support team to acquire a POD/Beneficiary form. By completing and submitting the form, you are giving a way for us to identify the true person to ensure they are able to inherit your finances from your Elevault account in the event of your passing. If you choose to send the form in a way other than the email address on file or the Elevault or Envie app, you must have the form notarized.
More about POD/Beneficiary Designations:
What is a POD/Beneficiary?
POD stands for Payable On Death. By designating someone as your POD(s), you are granting permission for us to pay your entire portfolio balance to the named beneficiary(ies). You have the ability to add one non-natural person as your beneficiary or one or more natural persons. A non-natural person (or non-human being) includes corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, trusts, and unincorporated organizations.
Can I add multiple people as a POD/Beneficiary?
You may name a single non-natural person as a beneficiary. Or, if all beneficiaries are natural persons, you may name one or more beneficiaries up to the bank’s designated limit per policy. In the event of your passing, all funds are split equally between all listed beneficiaries who are living at the time. If you add a non-natural person, no natural persons can be named.
Can I view/change my POD/Beneficiary?
Please contact Customer Support for further information on how to view/change your POD/Beneficiary. The account owner reserves the right to change beneficiaries at any time.
Can my POD/Beneficiary withdraw funds from my account?
Beneficiaries cannot withdraw unless: (1) the person creating the account dies and (2) the beneficiary is then living or, in the case of a beneficiary that is a non-natural person, the beneficiary can provide proof of legal existence and/or good standing.
What if I also have money in the Envie app or other bank products?
Your POD designations only apply to TeamWALT products such as Elevault and Envie. Your chosen designations do not apply to any other accounts you own.
What if I own a Shared Vault or I share a Vault that someone else owns?
A Vault that you own will be disbursed like any other Vault you own. Anyone who is sharing that Vault will not be eligible to access that money unless they are also a POD. If you share a Vault that you do not own, your POD’s will not have access to the money in that Vault.
