Link a new bank account

Elevault users can link a bank account two ways: automatically via Plaid, or manually via micro-deposits. Here are the steps for both.

Updated over a week ago

There are two ways to add a new linked bank account to Elevault:

  • Automatically via Plaid

  • Manually via small trial deposits

Linking automatically with Plaid

  1. Open Elevault and tap the menu to open it. It looks like three blue lines in the top left corner of your screen.

  2. Tap Linked Accounts.

  3. Tap the blue plus sign in the top right corner.

  4. Tap Automatically with Plaid.

  5. Once Plaid opens, review the information about linking automatically, then tap Continue.

  6. Select your bank. (If you do not see it in the list, you can type your bank's name in the search bar to locate it.)

  7. Enter the login information you use to sign into your bank normally.

  8. You'll receive a one-time use security code from Plaid to verify your account. Plaid will send this to your phone number or email address. Enter the security code in once you have it.

  9. Select the checking or savings account you wish to link.

  10. Tap Continue to finish linking your bank account with Plaid.

  11. It's now ready to use!

Linking manually with micro-deposits

  1. Open Elevault and tap the menu to open it. It looks like three blue lines in the top left corner of your screen.

  2. Tap Linked Accounts.

  3. Tap the blue plus sign in the top right corner.

  4. Tap Manually with Trial Deposits.

  5. Type in the details for your checking or savings account, including your account number, routing number, and account type. You can also add a nickname for this account here.

  6. Tap Start Linking.

  7. Two trial deposits will be deposited to the bank account you're tempting to link in 1-2 business days. (Weekends and holidays may affect this.)

  8. This linked account will show as Pending until you confirm your deposit amounts.

  9. Once you have the two deposit amounts, return to Elevault.

  10. Open your Linked Accounts again from the menu.

  11. Tap Finalize Linking and enter those deposit amounts.

  12. Tap Finalize Account Link to finish linking your bank account to Elevault.

  13. It's now ready to use!

If you decide not to use the account while it's still pending, you can tap Unlink This Account which cancels linking the account to Elevault.
