Create your competition

Updated today

How do I create a new competition?

After logging into the app, go to ‘Create Competition,’ enter the basic competition details (choose the discipline and apparatuses), and follow the guides.

In Elevien, you can set up a gymnastics competition by choosing one or both disciplines, and selecting either a single age group (category) or multiple age groups and levels (programs).

One age group structure is designed for smaller competitions or control trainings. It works best when using a single program or category, or when recording a control training as preparation for a competition.

With this structure, you can:

  • Enable or disable specific apparatuses

  • Define the number of vault attempts

  • Select how results are presented: by apparatus, all-around, or team

Multiple age groups structure is intended for larger and more complex competitions with multiple levels or divisions. When working with multiple programs (levels), you can:

  • Create categories within each program, such as age groups (senior, junior, etc.)

  • Define category-specific rules, including:

    • Apparatus selection

    • Vault configuration

    • Result lists

All aspects of the competition structure and rules can also be adjusted later in the Settings screen, where programs and categories can be added or removed and general competition rules updated.

 Selecting a date range

  1. Use the date picker to select the start and end date of your competition

  2. Select the start time
The start date and time are especially important if you are using registrations in Elevien with a registration deadline, or if you are running an online competition. In these cases, the system relies on the defined start time to manage availability, deadlines, and visibility for participants.

  3. Adjust daily details later
You can modify daily schedules and times later in the Schedule section.

  4. Check your time zone
Your local time zone is displayed under the start time field. All time slots in Elevien are shown according to your local time, ensuring consistent timing for organizers and participants.

How do I add participants to a competition?

There are three ways to add participants:

  1. Open registrations
Participants register for the competition directly through Elevien. The organiser generates a registration link, shares it with participants, and defines the registration deadline.

  2. Add gymnasts manually
Gymnasts can be added individually directly within the app.

  3. Import a gymnast list from a spreadsheet (web app only)

    • In the Discipline setup, click Add gymnast (top right corner).

    • Select Import gymnast list.

Can I copy a competition structure I have used previously?

If you are the owner or an administrator of a competition in Elevien, you can reuse its structure when creating a new competition.

  1. Open the competition you want to reuse.

  2. Go to the Settings screen.

  3. Click Copy Competition.

This will create an exact copy of the competition structure and settings, including:

  • disciplines

  • programs and categories

  • competition settings (All-Around, Team, Individual, Vault)

Note: Any administrator of the competition can copy it. Public competitions that you do not administer cannot be copied.

Important: Participants are not copied. This allows you to start with a clean list of gymnasts for each new competition.

Do I need any special equipment to organise a competition in Elevien?

No special equipment is required. Elevien is designed to run on standard devices you already have.

To organise a competition, you will need:

  • a smartphone or a PC for each judge and organiser

  • a reliable internet connection

If you are recording routines during the competition:

  • a mobile phone for each recorder

This setup allows judges, organisers, and recorders to work simultaneously and efficiently, whether the competition is held on-site or online.
