Advanced Judging Options in Elevien

Learn how judges and supervisors can edit vault settings and view or adjust the gymnast order

Updated this week

Supervisor & D judge: Change Vault Settings

Vault settings can still be changed in Competition Settings, but they can now also be updated directly within the workflow by D judges and supervisors.

  • D judges can update them from their judging flow

  • Supervisors can update them from the results tab

This makes it easy to fix errors on the spot while checking scores, without interrupting your workflow.

Viewing Gymnasts by Rotation

If you’re judging on an iOS device, the Elevien web app now offers an improved way to view gymnasts during competitions with multiple subdivisions and rotations.

Instead of scrolling through one long list, you can now see gymnasts grouped by their assigned rotation, making judging more organized and efficient.

1. Clearer Rotation Display

Gymnasts are displayed by subdivision and rotation. This means you’ll immediately know which athletes belong to your current rotation.

2. Better Timing Awareness

You can easily track when each rotation starts and ends — and quickly see who you’ll be judging next.

3. Drag & Drop Ordering

Need to adjust the order of gymnasts within a rotation? Simply drag and drop them into place directly in the app.

Judges using the web app on laptops can now edit and delete their own scores, just like in the mobile app. This improvement makes judging even more seamless, eliminating the need to switch devices during a competition.

Control for Organizers:
Competition organizers can enable or disable the score editing feature in the settings. Depending on the competition, judges may be permitted to make corrections, helping to keep scoring smooth and efficient.

If enabled, judges can edit their scores directly in the web app, making the judging process more flexible and streamlined.

D judge

Have unlimited time to edit their scores, giving them the chance to review videos and confirm their final scores.

E Judges

Can only edit their scores within a short time window, mainly to correct accidental typos.

Manual Score Approval (Beta)

For high-level competitions, organisers can now require scores to be manually approved before becoming public.

  • How it works: Scores and rankings are saved but remain hidden from the public (scoreboards and app results) until a Supervisor manually approves them.

  • Setup: This is defined per apparatus in the competition Settings. Note: You must enable "Beta features" in your Profile Settings to use this.

Instructions for Supervisors:

  1. Go to the Edit Scores screen.

  2. Locate the new "Approved" column.

  3. Click to approve the score for each gymnast. Only then does the score become visible to the public.

  4. Inquiries: You can un-approve a score during an inquiry to hide it, then re-approve it once resolved.

Sort by Start List

You can now view gymnasts in the order they perform, rather than just by their ranking.

  • Why use it: It reflects the actual competition flow (rotation order) and allows D Judges to review all judges' scores in a structured way without the confusion of shifting rankings.

  • How to use: On the Edit Scores screen, select the Sort by Start list option to change the view.
