Downloading Data from Your Account to Your Computer

You can download data from your account in several ways, via the Desktop application, the Syncfolder, or the Website.

Updated over a week ago

We recommend using the Desktop application when downloading large amounts of data, as it provides better speed, stability, and control than a browser.

Download Using the Desktop Application

When using the desktop app, you have access to a section called "Download".

How to download files through the Desktop application:

  1. Open the Desktop application.

  2. Navigate to the Download.

  3. In the Download section, you can:

    • Browse current backup folders.

    • Download folders.

  4. Select the folders you wish to download and click the download button.

  5. The application calculates the total data size and the number of files.

Download via the Website

  1. Go to the website and log in with your username and password.

  2. Navigate to the section where your data is located:

    • Synced

    • Backups

    • Archive

    • Shared

    • Trash

  3. Select the files or folders you want to download.

  4. Click the "Download" button in the top right corner.

Note: Web browsers may behave differently when downloading. Some will save all files to your Downloads folder, while others may prompt you to choose a location.

Download Using the Syncfolder

Once the desktop application is installed, your Synced files are automatically downloaded to your computer via the Syncfolder.

This folder typically appears in your file system under Favourites or Quick Access. Any changes you make here will sync with your Jottacloud account in real-time.

You can also manually download synced files from the website, as explained above.
