Files is the most common and recognizable representation of your data. In Elkjøp Cloud you will find 4 main file folders:

Files and folders located in the Synched files section will be synchronized to all your devices with Elkjøp Cloud installed. We call this place the Sync folder.

The Sync folder is included in the desktop application. It ensures synchronization across devices and platforms, so you always have access to what you save. It can be a good idea to share files from the Sync folder so everyone always see the latest versions.

You should place files here that you need access to on all your devices.

When you back up files and folders via Elkjøp Clouds desktop application, they end up in a folder called Backed up.

A backup is a mirror of your local folder structure. When you add new files and folders, they are backed up to the cloud. This way, if something unexpected happens to your computer, you'll have a copy of your stored content safe in the cloud.

When you delete a file or folder, we put in the Trash Can, where it is deleted after 30 days.

Elkjøp Clouds mobile app can also backup files and folders from your phone, as well as photos and videos. Photos and videos backed up with the mobile app will also be available in the folder called Backed up. With the mobile app downloaded you can access both your backed up files/folder and synchronized files/folders from your computer.

Files and/or folders you don't edit or update often, but still want to securely store, can be stored in the Archive. The Archive folder is not synchronized with any other folders, and thus is not updated automatically. This means you can move files or folders from the 'Backed up' folder to the 'Archive' and delete them from 'Backed up' if you want to.

Furthermore, if you save a file in both the Archive and on your computer, any changes you make to one of these files won't automatically affect the other. They remain separate.

Files stored in the Archive will be stored here until you delete the files manually.

Moving files to the archive can be a great way to free up space on your computer.

All the files and folders you have shared, or someone have shares with you, are located in the folder Shared.
