The Archive feature is a storage option for files that you want to keep but don't necessarily need to access regularly. You can use the Archive to store files on Elkjøp Cloud without keeping copies on your computer. It's like a digital attic where you can store files you don't need immediate access to.
Data stored in the Archive, can be deleted locally, to save space on your computer or another connected device.
The Archiving is online, meaning it can only be accessed when you are logged into our web page or using the mobile app. Note that it is not possible to set up automatic archiving, you will have to do it manually each time.
Archiving can be done in two different ways;
1. Move of copy files or folders from "Backed up" and "Synced"
2. Directly in the Archive folder.
These two ways works the same on web page and the mobile app.
Archiving from the Sync and Backed up folder
Go to Files. Then go to "Synced files" or "Backed up files" (wherever you have the file or folder that you want to archive). Tick the checkbox next to the file or folders and files you would like to archive:
Then you can choose between copying or moving the folders/files:
Copying: If you choose "Copy" you will have one copy in Synced/Backed up files and one in the archive.
Move: If you select "Move" you will only have the copy in the Archive left. If you want to free up space locally on your computer, you should normally select "Move"
After selecting move/copy, click the Archive in the window that pops up:
Click "Move/Copy to folder" to confirm your selection and to move/copy the files to the Archive. You will get a confirmation text on the top of the page.
The files can now be found by clicking on the archive tab.
Archiving directly from the Archive folder
Go to Files from the main menu. Then go to "Archive":
Click the plus sign in the lower right corner and select "Upload files" or Upload folders":
Select the file or folder you want to upload from your device to the Archive, and confirm.
