Users typically contact the mining pool when there is a data mismatch. Sometimes mining pools are accused of stealing computing power from miners. But we guarantee that this will never happen to you at EMCD Pool, since our team is dedicated to its own mission and maintains high standards of quality and integrity.

What is the difference between the Actual and Reported hash rates?

The actual hash rate is calculated based on the received hashes that your hardware has sent to the pool. This value can fluctuate above or below your reported hash rate. The level is affected by things like late shares, invalid shares, change in hash difficulty, and pool luck. Over a particular period of time, your worker may provide more or less shares that are accepted by the pool.

The Reported hash rate is used by the mining software to report the computed equipment hash rate that is sent to the pool. The reported hash rate is mainly used for purposes of comparison with your actual hash rate shown by the pool. Generally speaking, the declared hash rate is approximate, and therefore when it is compared with the actual hash rate there is always a small discrepancy. This value is only displayed by the software of your workers.

  • If the real-time hash rate has a low reference value, it is recommended to compare the actual and reported hash rates after the mining hardware has been running for 24 hours.

Possible technical difficulties:

  • Miner hash card data is incorrect.

If the hash rate displayed on the hash card is lower than the actual hash rate, reconnect the hash card cables (or replace any damaged ones) and restart the miner. If the problem persists, contact the miner manufacturer for additional technical support.

  • Zero hash rate and abnormal temperature.

The hash card is connected, but the hash rate is zero, the number of chips is zero, or the temperature readings are abnormal (different from other hash cards). Replug in the hash card cables and restart the miner. If the problem persists, contact a service center or a specialist for troubleshooting.

  • The temperature exceeds the limit, and as a result, the miner goes into high temperature protection mode or restarts.

For example, the normal operating temperature of WhatsMiner is around 80–90 degrees Celsius. If the miner's temperature exceeds 95 degrees, you need to improve ventilation and lower the miner's temperature by installing a radiator, air conditioner, fan, or other cooling equipment.

  • Equipment failure.

The miner may have poorly connected cables, damaged chips, and many other problems. This happens during transportation or for other reasons. Please contact the manufacturer's support service on the official website.

  • Why does the pool not display the hash rate while the miner is running?

    • Not enough time has passed, and the miner did not have time to send data to the mining pool. The hash rate should be displayed within 10–15 minutes.

    • Incorrect settings can cause a mismatch between the worker name in the mining software and the worker name in the miner, errors in the pool URL or other data, etc.

    • If the miner is idling, this is usually the result of a power outage. In other words, these miners have lost their connection after restarting. Try rebooting the miner.

    • An unstable Internet connection can cause the miner to disconnect from the pool.

    • To identify an Internet connection problem, test the network ping and connection speed.

Run a connection speed test and make sure your Internet connection is working. You can use this website to test your internet connection: https://www.speedtest.net/.

What should I do if the hash rate drops?

Please check the following:

  1. Make sure the mining configuration is correct.

  2. Make sure your mining hardware is working properly.

  3. Make sure that your Internet connection is stable.

  4. Check for network outages.

  5. Check your VPN

What should I do if my income drops?

Please check the following:

  1. Make sure your mining hardware is working properly.

  2. Make sure the mining configuration is correct.

  3. Check for network outages.

  4. Perhaps the mining difficulty has changed (if the difficulty changes, your income will fluctuate).
