We recommend always hiring a certified electrician to install the EV Charger. They'd be able to help figure out the specific installation requirements for your particular installation scenario like wire run/length from the electrical service to the charger, installing a NEMA plug (if needed) and more.

A professional installation is not required in many situations, but can be helpful unless you're comfortable working with residential electrical circuits at ~240V.

A certified electrician can also help with the permits needed in your area and they can certainly asks local regulatory questions that we are not aware of at Emporia.
