2. Click on Create Project.

Navigate to the top right corner on the projects tab from your Emporia dashboard.

3. Choose the Study Type You'd Like to Create

You may choose between a quantitative Survey or qualitative Interview study.

4. Fill Out the Project Details Section.

  • Assign both an internal and a public-facing name and description to your project. The public name and description will be included in outbound communications to participants, so avoid sharing any confidential information here.

  • Provide the target number of participants you are looking to recruit for this project. We recommend recruiting 1.25x more participants than the number of interviews you are looking to conduct. This number will impact your feasibility score.

  • Provide the length of the interview in minutes. This number will impact your feasibility score and be displayed to participants.

5. Fill Out the Audience Criteria Section.

You can specify criteria like location, management level, and job title to find the exact audience that you want for your project. If you have any questions while defining your audience, you can contact support for hands-on assistance.

6. Generate and Inspect Your Audience Preview

After entering the audience criteria, you can generate an Audience Preview in real-time. This preview will show you the types of respondents you can expect to field, though they are not exact matches.

In the Audience Preview, you can click on potential respondents' LinkedIn profiles to determine if they are a good fit for your project. If the preview does not align with your expected audience, you can adjust your criteria and try again.

7. Fill Out the Project Settings Section.

For an Interview study:

  1. Indicate whether a screener is needed for your project. Provide an estimated qualifying rate (i.e., Incidence Rate) after targeting. You can create your screener and update the qualifying rate after setting up your initial project.

  2. Specify if your screener will collect personally identifiable information (PII), if you need add-on transcription services, and which devices will be allowed for the study.

  3. Enter your anticipated interviewing dates and the type of interview location.

Once all details are entered, click "Save as Draft".

For a Survey study:

  1. Indicate whether you'd like to build the survey on Emporia or integrate with an external survey solution. If you choose to use an external solution, you will be asked to provide your survey's redirect link.

  2. Provide an estimated qualifying rate (i.e., Incidence Rate) after targeting. You can update this rate after setting up your initial project.

  3. Specify if your screener will collect personally identifiable information (PII), if you'd like to auto pause the project when target completes are reached, and which devices will be allowed for the study.

Once all details are entered, click "Save as Draft".
