What exactly is partial qualification?

The above example shows the difference between Disqualified candidates and Partially Qualified participants in the Manage Respondents tab.

Partial qualification occurs when respondents choose answers to certain screener questions, where the answer choice's condition was set to "Reject" and the question was not marked as "Key Question". These questions can be used to gauge fit on softer screening criteria. The percentage displayed in the Manage Respondents tab refers to the percentage of the questions that a participant has "passed."

How is the partial qualifying score determined?

The score is determined by the number of questions a participant has "passed" against the number of questions in the screener. In simpler terms, the partial qualifying score can be thought of as the "pass rate" of a respondent. And, it can be used to analyze whether a certain respondent's characteristics could still be relevant to a study. It is important to note that those who partially qualify are not counted towards the screener's completes quota.

What is the impact of partial qualification and why are partially-qualified participants important to consider?

The use of partially-qualified respondents can be beneficial in screening processes. By incorporating non-key questions, participants who may have initially provided a disqualifying answer can still proceed if their other responses indicate that they might be suitable. This approach allows potentially excellent fits to move forward in the screener. Users are encouraged to request bookings with these partially-qualified participants in the same way they would with fully-qualified respondents. After reviewing a candidate's profile and responses, if users feel that the participant aligns well with their research objectives, they can proceed with the booking process.

How can you go about creating an auto-disqualifying question, otherwise known as a "Key Question"?

2. In Projects, find your project and click on View Details

3. Select the "Screener" tab at the top

4. Click on the "+" to add a new question or find an existing question

Click on Multiple Select

5. Select which choices should be auto-disqualified, and select the choice as "Reject"

By doing so, the respondents who select the choice(s) marked as "Reject" will be unable to continue taking the screener.

6. Check Key Question

Now, this question will be a key question. This means that respondents who choose the answers marked as "Reject" will be automatically disqualified. And, their screeners will be terminated.

How can I ensure that a question allows a respondent to continue taking the screener? This will also allow respondents to be partially-qualified.

In order to do this, ensure that the question is only marked as Required (i.e. Key Question is not marked). The following question would allow for partial-qualifications.

Did this answer your question?
