Revoke awards

Learn how to revoke awards sent to employees

If reward points need to be taken back (revoked) due to disputes, changes, or human error, there are a few simple steps to follow.

Option 1 - Without raising a request

Super Admins can directly revoke awards without needing to raise a request. Here’s how:

Step 1: Navigate to Recognize > Admin > Revoke Awards.

Step 2: Click inside the date icon to select the date range within which you want all the awards given to be displayed.

Step 3: Click on the reward and then click Revoke to initiate the process of revoking.

When you revoke an award or gift, the following things occur:

  • Points are revoked back to the nominator's account.

  • The message posted on the group is deleted.

  • The award status is updated in the reports.

  • A notification is sent to the award recipient to inform them of this change.

  • The nominator is notified regarding the revoking of the award.

  • Click Done to proceed with the revoking process.

  • If the nominator is disabled, Empuls can revoke the points to a different user's account.

An award or gift cannot be revoked if the associated points are redeemed, even partially, by the employee.

Option 2 - Raise a Request

Nominators can also raise a request for revoking the award, once the award is approved by following the steps:

  • Navigate to Recognize > Recognition Activity. Find the specific nomination you want to revoke. Click on the three dots and select Revoke Award.

  • You’ll be asked to add a reason for revoking the award. Once done, click Submit.

Q: How do I access the revoke option?
A: Go to Recognize > Admin > Revoke Awards and select the date range to view awards eligible for revocation.

Q: What happens when an award is revoked?
A:

  • Reward points are returned to the nominator’s account.

  • Award status is updated in the reports.

  • Both the recipient and nominator are notified.

Q: Can revoked points go to a different user if the nominator is inactive?
A: Yes. If the original nominator is disabled, Empuls allows points to be reassigned to another user.

Q: Can I revoke an award after the recipient has used the points?
A: No. Awards cannot be revoked if the recipient has redeemed any of the associated points, even partially.
