Roles and Permissions

This guru card will be covering roles and permissions and how they are handled in the new version of Enerflo, not the older/legacy version.

Types of Users

Currently there are two types of users for businesses that utilize Enerflo - org admins and org users. This does not include Enerflo staff's own users.

A single user can be associated with multiple organizations (which must be setup by Enerflo support) and can have different levels of permission in each of the orgs they are associated with.

Roles

Administrators are able to find and manage their organizations roles via Settings > Org > Roles

And on this screen they can add new roles, or manage existing ones.

Each role can have different permissions associated, and the list of permissions listed can depend on the plugins and features your organization has access to.

Under the 'Users' tab you can add in which users should receive the permissions you've assigned to that role, or remove them if no longer appropriate. An individual user can have multiple roles assigned.

Please note that org admins automatically have full permissions regardless of roles

You can also add existing roles to users by going through their particular user settings page/span>

The Base Role

/span>

There is one special role which is present on all organizations, and automatically applies its permissions to all users within that org - The Base Role.

The Base Role's permissions are essentially the minimum amount of permissions all org users for that organization will experience.

As Enerflo releases explicit permissions for abilities users are already utilizing (so that admins can decide whether or not they want to take those permissions away from some or all of their users), those permissions will be added to the base role so that users don't experience any disruption.

From there, admins can manage these base role permissions as they choose, adding or removing to suit their needs.

If for example you did not want all of your users to be able to create deals, you could remove that permission from the base role, add it to a different role, and assign that role to users you want to still be able to create deals.
