After a Setter submits a lead, it will be assigned based on a triage method defined by the sales organization. Triage is a fancy way to saying “sorting”. When a lead is triaged or sorted by in a Round Robin, the lead is sent to the next Sales Rep in line. No preference is given to the rep’s ability or history of closing deals.

If a sales organization is triaging leads by Power Ranking, the lead is assigned based on the ranking of their sales reps. Ranking criteria may take into account any number of factors which may include seniority, closing rate, revenue generated, availability, etc. Each rep’s rank aligns them in a hierarchy to receive leads. The higher the rep is in the hierarchy, the more leads they are likely to get.
