⚠️ Warning: Switching Templates on an In-Progress Deal
Changing a deal's template after it's already started (especially after contract documents began generating) can cause state-required documents to stop generating/attaching, including: Proposal Overview, HOA Disclosure, Cancellation Policy, Power of Attorney. These are often tied to the template/state configuration active when the deal was created.

If this happens: Don't try switching the template again — contact Enerflo Support, since fixing it typically requires a backend correction.

Best practice: Avoid changing a deal's template once in progress. If unavoidable, verify all required documents are still generating correctly afterward.

This guide is for updating existing templates. For instructions on how to create a new deal template, follow the steps outlined in How to Create and Edit a Deal Template.

STEP 1

Navigate to Settings > Deal > Deal Templates

STEP 2

All of your Deal Templates are listed on this page.

  1. Click on the Plus Icon to see the revision history for any deal template.

  2. The version number that has the word (current) in parens next to it is the version currently being used in all your deals.

  3. To make changes to a Deal Template, click the version name to open the Deal template's properties screen.

STEP 3

When the Deal Template properties screen opens:

  1. Click the Lock Icon in the top right corner

  2. You will be given a choice to Continue Editing the LIVE version -or- Create Revision

    1. If you Continue Editing and save the LIVE template, all deals that are using that template will also be updated.

    2. Create Revision allows you to make changes and then update to the new version when ready (this option won't impact any deals until you set it LIVE).

STEP 4

  1. Click through the Stages in the Deal Template to update/edit the Fields and/or Questions. See Creating Questions in a Deal Template for more detailed instructions.

  2. If you chose to Create Revision, you'll need to click Make Current to set those changes LIVE. This will replace the (current) Deal Template you're using.

  3. To Save, make sure to lock your new Deal Template by clicking the Lock icon.

Enabling Deal Templates for Authorized Dealers (V1/V2 Setup)

If you operate in both V1 (legacy) and V2 and have authorized dealer orgs, deal templates must be enabled in two places:

  1. The V1 deal template settings — where the template is created and configured.

  2. The V2 Authorized Dealer settings — the template must also be toggled on specifically for each authorized dealer that should have access.

If a deal template is missing from an authorized dealer's deal view, check both locations. Enabling in one but not the other will result in the template not appearing for that dealer's reps.

How to Enable a Template for an Authorized Dealer

  1. Navigate to the authorized dealer's settings in V2.

  2. Find the deal templates section and confirm the relevant template is toggled on.

  3. Save and have the dealer log out and back in if the change doesn't appear immediately.
