When logging into Engraffo, the first thing publishers and customers (life sciences companies and intermediaries) see is their Project dashboard. With the 'Cards' view option (the dashboard view that showcases Project cover art) enabled, Publishers are provided with a branding opportunity to highlight their journals and quick context for Project lookup.

Cover images are loaded at the Article level, since every Engraffo Project is associated with an article.

To upload a cover image for your Project, you must first locate the associated Project article. Navigate to the Articles section from the main menu (left side of the application), locate and click on your article. You can also locate your article in the following ways:

  • From your Project: click on the Assets tab, then click on View Article from the asset line item under 'Assets included in this project'.

  • From the Search bar: simply begin typing the title or author name in the search bar, and categorized results will return in real-time

Once you have located your article, click on the Edit Article button. You can upload an image file (JPG or PNG) under 2MB in size.

If no cover image is provide, we provide a generic cover page with limited article meta data (journal name and lead author).

What imagery should you use for cover art?

Since Engraffo Projects generally revolve around a single article, we recommend using an image of the respective issue cover, reprint cover page (if available), or article title page (if available). As a last resort, you can also use the first page of the article. Please refer to the resources below regarding how to convert a PDF file into an image.

If no artwork is available, Engraffo will automatically supply a generic default cover for you, with some very basic citation details.

Adobe Acrobat resource

If your organization has an online Adobe Acrobat account, here is a useful tool for quickly converting PDF files into images: https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/acrobat/pdf-to-image

There are also several other online resources that provide the same functionality.
