If you’d like to run a contest where you manage payments and payouts yourself, you can create a Self-Managed (Entertainment-Only) contest. These contests are designed for commissioners who prefer to handle entry fees and winnings outside of Splash Sports.
What Is a Self-Managed (EO) Contest?
A Self-Managed (Entertainment-Only) contest means:
Splash Sports provides the game experience and tools
The commissioner is responsible for collecting entry fees and distributing payouts
No payments or prizes are handled within the platform
How to Create a Self-Managed Contest
To create a Self-Managed contest:
Start by selecting Create Contest from the main menu
Choose your preferred contest type (Survivor, Pick’em, Bracket, etc.)
During setup, select the Self-Managed (Entertainment-Only) option when prompted
Complete your contest settings and create your contest
Important Notes
Self-Managed contests may include a one-time service fee, depending on the contest type
All payments and payouts must be handled outside of Splash Sports
Be sure to clearly communicate payment details and deadlines to your members
Switching Between Contest Types
If you prefer Splash to handle entry fees and payouts, you can instead select a Splash-Managed contest during setup.
Please note: once a contest is created, the contest type cannot be changed, so be sure to select the correct option before finalizing.
