Entertainment-Only: NCAAB Squares – Square Assignment By Commissioner

The Square Assignment tool allows commissioners to assign squares to participants within their NCAAB Tournament Squares contest. You can assign squares to registered members or quickly add names as guest entries.

Assignment Options

When assigning a square, you’ll see two options:

Option 1: Assign to a Member (Recommended)

  • Select a user from your member list

  • Keeps your contest organized and trackable

  • Allows you to maintain:

    • Member contact information

    • Number of squares per member

    • Notes or tracking details

Best for:
Commissioners managing a structured group who want visibility into participation and communication.

Option 2: Assign to a Guest

  • Enter a name manually for the square

  • No account or member profile is required

  • Faster for bulk or informal assignments

Best for:
Quick entry when you don’t need to track member details or manage a roster.

Which Option Should I Choose?

  • Use Assign to a Member if you want full visibility and organization

  • Use Assign to a Guest if you just need to quickly fill squares with names

Can Commissioners Assign Squares to Themselves?

Yes. As a commissioner, you can assign squares to yourself by selecting your name under Assign to a Member.

Important Notes

  • Guest squares (marked with *) are not tied to an account

  • Member-assigned squares provide better tracking and management

  • You can mix both methods within the same contest

Key Reminder

For the best experience, we recommend using Assign to a Member whenever possible—especially for larger or more organized contests.
