NHL Team Survivor (EO) – Edit Contest Setting --> Mulligan Settings

The Mulligan Settings section allows commissioners to give participants a second chance after a loss. This feature can be used to create a double-elimination style contest or to keep more members engaged throughout the season.

What Is a Mulligan?

A mulligan allows a participant to:

  • Be revived after a loss

  • Continue playing in the contest instead of being eliminated

How Mulligans Work

  • Mulligans can be issued:

    • Manually by the commissioner at any time

    • Automatically by enabling automatic mulligans

Automatic Mulligans

  • When enabled, mulligans are issued to all members who lost in the previous week

  • Example:

    • Members who lose in Week 2 will receive a mulligan at the start of Week 3

Important Rules

  • Mulligans apply to all eligible members when automatic mode is enabled

  • Members who do not submit a pick are NOT eligible for a mulligan

    • They will be permanently eliminated

    • (Alternatively, commissioners can manually enter a pick retroactively if appropriate)

Important Notes

  • Mulligans can significantly extend the length of your contest

  • Best used when you want to keep more participants active longer

  • Should be clearly communicated to all members before the contest begins

Key Reminder

Mulligans give players a second chance—but only if they actively participate. Missing a pick will still result in elimination.
