What Entertainment-Only (EO) PGA Contest Formats Are Available?

Splash Sports offers several Self-Managed (Entertainment-Only) PGA contest formats. These contests allow commissioners to run golf contests using Splash tools while managing entry fees and payouts outside of the platform.

Available PGA EO Contest Formats

PGA O&D (One & Done / Golf Pick X)

  • Also known as Golf Pick X on RunYourPool (RYP)

  • Select one golfer per tournament

  • Scoring options include Dollar Winnings (based on tournament earnings) or Total Strokes (lowest cumulative score wins)

Key Rule: Each golfer can typically only be selected once per season

Best for: Season-long contests with strategy and long-term planning

PGA Majors – Tiers / Salary Cap

  • Focused on major tournaments only (e.g., Masters, U.S. Open)

  • Two common formats: Tiers (pick one golfer from each group) or Salary Cap (build a lineup within a budget)

  • Scoring options: Dollar Winnings or Total Strokes

Best for: Groups that want a shorter, high-stakes contest around major events

PGA FedEx Cup Contests

  • Predict outcomes for the FedEx Cup playoffs

  • May involve selecting top-performing golfers or ranking players/building a roster

Best for: End-of-season contests with a playoff-style structure

Key Reminder

All PGA EO contests are Self-Managed -- commissioners handle entry fees and payouts externally. They are flexible with multiple scoring options and designed for both season-long and event-based play.

Choosing the Right Format

  • Season-Long Strategy: O&D (One & Done)
