Entertainment-Only: How to Reset or Create a World Cup Bracket Contest for 2026

How to reset a previous World Cup contest for 2026, including OFP migration, what settings to update, and how to create a brand new contest.

Overview

If you ran a World Cup Bracket contest in a previous year, you can reset it for 2026 rather than creating a new contest from scratch. Your previous settings and structure will carry over and you can update them before publishing.

How to Reset Your Contest

  1. Log into your Splash Sports account.

  2. Navigate to Commissioner → Final tab.

  3. Locate your previous World Cup contest.

  4. Click into the contest and select Restart Contest.

  5. Review and update your settings for 2026 — including point values, group stage configuration, and contest name.

  6. Publish the contest and re-invite your members.

I Used a Different Platform (OFP) Previously — Can I Still Reset?

Yes. If your previous World Cup contest was hosted on OFP, it has been migrated to Splash Sports. Your contest will be eligible for reset just like any other existing contest.

Do I Need to Update My Settings for 2026?

Yes — the 2026 format has expanded significantly. Before publishing your reset contest, review and update the following:

  • Group Stage: Now 12 groups (A–L) instead of 8. Make sure your group stage configuration reflects all 12 groups.

  • Knockout Stage points: A new Round of 32 has been added. Default point values have been updated across all rounds — review these and adjust as needed.

  • Tiebreaker: The tiebreaker now asks members to predict goals across 31 knockout games (up from 15). This is updated automatically.

  • Contest name: Update the name if needed.

I Don't Have a Previous Contest to Reset — How Do I Create One?

New World Cup Bracket contests will be available in the create a contest flow starting May 21, 2026. Navigate to Commissioner → Create a Contest and select World Cup Bracket.
