When the commissioner clicks the + on an open square in the grid, the Commissioner Square Assignment modal appears, offering two ways to fill that square.

We recommend Option 1 "Assign to an Entrant," since it lets the commissioner maintain an entrant roster with contact info, number of squares assigned, and custom notes per entrant. If an entrant hasn't joined yet, the commissioner can send them the invite link.
If the commissioner just wants to quickly enter a name for a square without tracking anything else, "Assign to a Guest" is the faster option.
Option #1: Assign to an Entrant
Select Entrant — Dropdown to choose from existing entrants in the contest (e.g., "qe_tester_main (you)")
Click Assign to Entrant to lock that square to the selected entrant
Option #2: Assign to a Guest
Guest Name — Free-text field to enter a name for someone who isn't a registered entrant
Click Assign to Guest to assign that square under the entered name
This gives commissioners flexibility to manually fill squares for members already in the contest, or for guests being tracked outside the normal entrant list (e.g., someone paying cash without an account).
