Football Survivor is a multi-week, private, invite-only, free-to-play elimination contest. Each week, every entry picks one team (or more, in multi-pick weeks) to win. A correct pick means you survive to the next week; an incorrect pick costs a life. Run out of lives and you're eliminated — the last entry standing wins. There are no points — surviving is everything.
Summary: A season-long elimination pool. Pick right, stay alive. Pick wrong, lose a life. Last one standing wins.
The Three Building Blocks Every Commissioner Chooses
# | Choice | Options | What It Means for the Group |
1 | League / Sport Mode | NFL only, College (CFB) only, or NFL + College Combined | One contest can run pure NFL, pure college, or blend both — members pick from either league each week in a combined pool. |
2 | Pick Type | Pick Winners or Pick Losers | Classic Survivor picks teams to win. A "loser pool" inverts it — pick the team you think will LOSE; if they win, you lose a life. |
3 | Scoring Basis | Straight Up, Against the Spread (Splash-set), or Against the Spread (Commissioner-set) | Straight Up only cares who wins. Against the Spread requires covering a point spread — either Splash's live odds or numbers the commissioner sets by hand. |
Beyond these three, commissioners can layer in additional customization:
Extra lives (mulligans)
Team re-use limits
Multi-pick weeks
A once-a-season Bye Pick
Contest revivals
Single-winner tiebreakers

A Note on How Survivor Differs from Pick'em
Survivor has no Confidence format, no Best Picks, no over/unders, no weighted scoring, no segments, and no weekly leaderboard.
The competitive depth comes from the survival mechanics instead:
How many lives entries get
How many times a team can be re-used
Whether multiple picks are required in certain weeks
How the endgame resolves — co-winners vs. a single-winner tiebreaker cascade
Summary: If you're used to Pick'em, don't look for points here. Survivor's strategy lives entirely in lives, team re-use rules, and how ties for the win get broken.
Quick Facts:
Fact | Detail |
Cost | Contest vault or service fee for commissioner |
Contest size | No cap. There is no maximum-entrants setting; a pool grows until the commissioner closes entries. |
Multi-entry | Supported. Default is 1 entry per person; the commissioner can raise the per-person cap (raise-only once live, same rules as Pick'em). |
Season coverage | Full NFL season (Week 1 → Super Bowl), full college season (Week 1 → National Championship), or both blended together |
Standings | One season-long view — alive entries on top, eliminated entries ranked by how long they survived. No weekly leaderboard. |
Mid-season flexibility | Most commissioner settings can be changed mid-season; tiebreakers can be changed at any time, even mid-contest |
