Why Is an "Invalid backend response" Error Displaying in the Browser Server?

Admin View:

When you are using the file browser (or Browser Server) in the back-end of your website, you may have come across an error message saying this:

Invalid backend response.

Data is not JSON.

You must be logged in to access this page.

This message is appearing because you are either not logged into your admin account, or you are experiencing a login session error. This error occurs when you get timed out of your admin account - or automatically logged out after a set amount of time. So in other words, if it appears you are logged in but the error message is showing up in the Browser Server, then it's because of a login session error.

If you are experiencing a login session error, the easy way to fix this is to just log out from the Admin - or the back-end of your website - and log back in. This will allow you to use the Browser Server normally again; although, you may have to reload, or close and re-open, the Browser Server if you still have it opened on your web browser so the fix can take effect. If the error message still keeps showing up, refer to the social (Intercom) tab at the bottom-right corner of Admin; or contact us for help at (217) 239-0975 or support@envisionwise.com.
