Add a link to an image or text

Adding a link to content on your website is easy! Follow the steps below on how to do it.

1.) Navigate to your page in the admin.

2.) Open the "Content Editor" item you'd like to add the link within.

3.) Select the text or image to add the link to.

4.) Click the link button in the editor toolbar

Note: If the text or image already has a link set up for them, aside from clicking the button you can right-click the text or image and select "Edit Link". You will be able to edit the current settings for it.

5.) Set up your URL in the "Link" pop-up.

  • You can use the "URL" field to manually type in the link or paste it in.

  • Adjust the "Protocol" field so it fits with your link.

    • If the link you added in the "URL" field already has an "http://" or "https://", set the "Protocol" field to "<other>".

  • Click the "Browse Server" button if you need to set up a link to a file on your website.

  • Use the "Internal Page" field if you need the link to open to a page on your website

    • Selecting a page will automatically set the "Protocol" field to "<other>".

6.) Optional - Click the "Target" tab in the Link window to set the link to an option on how you want it to open.

Listed below are the available options and how they work.

  • <no set> / Same Window (_self): Opens the link in the same window.

  • <frame>: Opens the link within an iframe on the same page.

  • New Window (_blank): Opens the link in a new window. This is recommended for links that will open to an external website or a file from your server.

  • Topmost Window (_top): Opens the link in the full body of the window.

  • Parent Window (_parent): Opens the link in a parent frame.

7.) Click the green "OK" button in the "Link" pop-up once your link is ready.

Once you are finished, you can click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page. Refresh the page on your website and test out the link to see if it works.
