Adding a Video File in a Page

For Envisionwise / LinkedUpRadio websites, you have the tools to upload and display a video file on a webpage. Though we recommend using video embeds from YouTube or other video platforms, you can upload your videos through your site if you rather have the files in the back-end.

If you like to use YouTube embeds, you can click here for the steps on how to use them. Otherwise, you can follow the steps below on how to set up and display a video file in your website.

  1. Within a "Content Editor" stack item, click the "Insert HTML5 Video" button. The icon will look like a film strip, and clicking it will open the "HTML5 video" pop-up.

  2. In the pop-up, click the "Browse Server" button next to the "Allowed file extensions" field to open the file browser.

    1. You can find and select your video in the server. If it is not in there yet, you can upload it.

    2. Note: The file browser has a file size limit of 200 MBs when uploading files in there. If a file is above 200 MBs, the server will block it from uploading.

  3. RECOMMENDED: Turn on the "Responsive width" option.

    1. This will allow the video to fit in any section it will be placed in.

    2. Leaving it turned off will make the video break out of its container on the website (depending on its size).

  4. OPTIONAL: Click the "Browse Server" button next to the "Thumbnail" field to open the file browser. You can select a graphic to have it function as the video's thumbnail.

  5. RECOMMENED: Turn on the "Show controls" option.

    1. This will allow the video to be playable.

    2. Leaving it turned off will make the video not work at all.

  6. OPTIONAL: Set up or adjust the Width, Height, and the Alignment for the video.

    1. These are not required to set up, but they are available if you like more control on how the video will display on the website.

    2. Setting up the Width and Height will not affect the "Responsive width" option as it will still work as intended.

  7. Click the green "OK" button once you are all set with you video.

After it is added within the editor, you can preview the video to see if it works. If you need to update it, you can double-click within or below the video to re-open the pop-up again.
