EnvizPro - The Orchestrator

General Pipeline

The Orchestrator is the first window that a user will be greeted with and acts as a filter for scenes that may be too large for the Enviz app. It goes through the main steps of the pipeline to ensure all objects are within the scope of the process by flagging/pre-optimizing objects that may be too big, converting Proxies/objects to an editable polygon and much more.

The plugin is designed to run through the Orchestrator first and set up your scene to make it easier to edit/modify.

For more information about setting your scene up and dealing with more detailed elements like Proxies/Scatters, you check this out.

The Run Setup

When you first sign up with Enviz, you will be given a free-trial listing to test run the plugin and this is where you link up your listings to the plugin.

  • Project/Spaces:

When you first create and account, you will be assigned a free trial listing for you to upload

  • Direct Upload:

Once the Orchestrator is complete, it will directly upload on to your desired listing

  • Bake with Deadline:

This option is available for users who use deadline as part of there render setup - if you link your Deadline repository to the plugin, it can bake your project on multiple machines

  • Render times:

You are limited to 3 time variations (5 min, 30 min or 1 hour) to ensure that you have the best result by utilizing the noise threshold/pass count.

Main Sequence

1. Scene Clean up

  • 5 min to 1 hour

The Scene Clean-Up scans your scene to detect objects or settings that could cause issues during the conversion process. it does a loose sweep of the entire scene and collapses/convert your objects to an editable polygon and finally moves all the Cameras/Lights to designated layers

2. Organise Layers

  • 20 min to 3 hours

The Organise layers step firstly uses Ai to organize your scene into loose layers categorized by the type of object like Interior walls, Plants, Kitchen, etc. It then follows through with a more detailed organizing method that relies on the square meter/Polygon count/proximity to break into sublayers

3. Pre-Deleter

  • 5 min to 4 hours

The Pre-deleter is a tool that runs through your scene and determines whether any polygons will be hidden by sight and moves those objects to the ZZZ_NOBAKE_Visible layer. This helps reduce the total polygon size and helps improves the success of layers being unwrapped.

4. Unwrap Scene

  • 30 min to 6 hours

The unwrapping step runs through every layer that has been organized in the 4 digit + layer description (6200_Furniture, 0400_Walls_Interior, etc) manor. This unwraps and packs objects in each layer to the UV channel 8 which then sets up for baking.

5. Bake Scene

  • Depends on the numbers of layers and Render time chosen

The baking step goes through all the sublayers, backs the objects up in the "EnvizPro" folder and then merges/bakes - once the baking is done, it will automatically pull the backed up objects into the scene and apply the baked texture to the object. When baking, you must have a single object per layer however when editing/polishing after, it is preferred to have the layer broken up which is why merging the objects 1 a single node is only temporary.

6. Optimize Scene

  • 30 minutes to 6 hours

The optimizing step can take a while depending on the size of your scene. It will systematically optimize/billboard each object until it hits the target total polycount of 3 million

7. Upload

  • 30 min to 2 hours

The uploading step is initially submitted through the plugin but is then continued via the Portal which you will be able to access through your account.
